Please Don't Rain!

Morgan was invited at the beginning of the week to go and spend the day today with Uncle Brandon, Aunt Christy, Jackson, William, and Maggie - they are going to see a firetruck up close and personal, and then (as long as it doesn't rain) go to the ZOO!!

Well this morning when she woke up the first thing on her mind was that she was going to go to the zoo. We were all very excited for her. As I let Sercy out this morning, I noticed the very wet patio and this gross mist of rain coming down. I came back inside to hear Morgan running through the house saying something about going to the zoo today - I really didn't want to tell her about the rain, it would have broken her heart.

Me:
Sweetie. Where are you going today?

Morgan:
No school today. I'm going to zoo!!!!

Me:
(great) Morgan, if it rains today you aren't going to be able to go to the zoo and see the animals, ok? Do you understand?

Morgan:
If it rain, the animals have to go in their house.

Me:
Right. If it rains today, the animals don't want to get wet, so they'll go in their house. If it rains, will you be able to see the animals at the zoo?

Morgan:
No. They go inside when it rains.

At this point she runs into the family room, grabs her waffle and napkin, and gives Sercy a hug. I really hope that they all get to go to the zoo and see the animals - PLEASE let the drizzle rain stop!
