Happy New Year!

This post is just a bit late, but I wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year! We had an incredibly relaxing and peaceful day yesterday, and are hopeful the rest of the year follows the same pattern.

We went to a friend's house to watch the Auburn-Clemson game (War Eagle!) on New Year's Eve. Prior to heading up to Chateau Elan, Morgan fought taking a nap for about 3 hours - after her screaming and trying to get us to compromise on her nap time she FINALLY fell asleep. We had to wake her up a little more than an hour later - she normally sleeps about 2+ hours (we really didn't want to wake her, but had to get up to the house before the game started).

My initial fear for the evening was that she was going to scream and show attitude all evening, which would have just been awful. Thankfully she was awesome! She entertained her self and others the entire night (there were flashes of crankiness, but overall she rocked!). After the game we loaded up the mini-van (I'm still contemplating getting flames painted down the side), said Happy New Year to everyone and headed home (it was about midnight - Morgan had been going all day on only 1-1.5 hours of a nap that afternoon, she watched the Wiggles on the way home; falling asleep about the time we pulled in the neighborhood).

I was able to transfer her from the car to her bed and she slept until almost 8 the next morning (this is "sleeping in" for Morgan - she typically is up and at full speed between 6-6:30). We all got up and played, colored, read books, and put puzzles together on Tuesday morning. About 10:30 Morgan told me she wanted some hot pizza for lunch (she ate almost 2 full slices of Tombstone pizza - the official Sunday lunch pizza at the Lemmings' household) and told me she was ready for a nap by 11:40.

Morgan must have still been worn-out from the day before because she slept for almost 4 hours! We walked in to get her up and could hear her singing "Gingle Bells" and the "ABCs" while laying in her bed - she is too cute!

So what happens in the household when the smallest Lemmings is asleep?

Jen reads magazines, watches TV, takes a nap on the couch (30 weeks pregnant and a quiet house = peaceful), while I play "God of War 2" for PS2 for 3-4 hours - I may have an addiction problem!

All in all, the year has started out fantastically calm and relaxing. Morgan continues to shock both Jen and I with the words she has picked up (99% are good), and the conversations we can have with her now are awesome- God has blessed us with a talker (I hope Matthew can get a word in every now and then)!

I hope that everyone had a great Christmas and New Year holidays!
