Giving Thanks

Tomorrow is the traditional day of giving thanks across America - unless of course you are a turkey or a pig. Thanks for your sacrifices guys - you taste awesome!

We will attempt to leave Atlanta tonight after work and school. I say attempt because I am sure that the rest of Atlanta will be trying to leave at the same time - traffic is going to be brutal! If you live or work in Atlanta, why don't you go ahead and beat the rush now and leave for home, the grocery store, Grandma's house, the airport, etc.

We are all excited about heading to Auburn for Thanksgiving Day with the Evans-Howland-Lemmings-McFarland-Norris Clans. Morgan is especially excited to spend time with Jackson, Sercy, Chance, and Elvis (that would be 1 cousin and 3 dogs).

Morgan really has no idea about Thanksgiving, she just sees that Daddy has eaten way too much fresh and canned cranberry, turkey, green-bean casserole, bread, dressing, gravy covered mashed potatoes, apple pie, and is sitting on the couch with the top button of his jeans undone sleep-watching college football (moaning in pain, but not too much pain, because there seems to be a second or third slice of pie next to his chair)...(this could be either a foretelling of the future or a quick look into Thanksgiving Days of the past).

On Friday we are going to head up to Birmingham (taking "Baby Peyton" with us, while Collin, Kate, and Gray are watching Peter Pan at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival in Montgomery) to spend the weekend with our other family the Kings. We are all looking forward to hanging out with each other this weekend - catching up on sleep (ha!), family stories (most of them will be true), football, but mostly just good times! We love and miss being able to spend time with the Kings.

Here is my list of "thanks" so far:
  • Wife (Jen's 30th birthday was yesterday! Happy B-day Love!)
  • Morgan and Matthew (I can't wait to meet you in March)
  • Family and Friends (those people brought into my life by God, through marriage and by choice)
  • God (I am constantly reminded of the gifts He has laid at my feet and the love He provides to me for no other reason than that He desires me - gotta love grace!)
  • The Iron Bowl (Auburn vs. Alabama at 8 PM EST on ESPN - WAR EAGLE!)
I hope that everyone has a safe and full-filling Turkey Day! Be careful traveling to see family and friends. If you are getting up at the butt-crack of dawn to go shopping with the rest of the crazy people - be sure to at least brush your teeth (early morning breath - eeewwwwuuuhhh).
