Men's Conference 2007

I have been meaning to write this post for a couple days and have not been able for no really good reason besides being lazy that is.

This past weekend (3/2-3/3) Brandon, Eric, Adam and I went to the Men's Retreat for Sugarloaf UMC. The retreat was being held at Strong Rock Camp and Retreat outside of Cleveland, Georgia. The retreat was awesome! Last year we had about 45 men at the retreat and had only expected to have about 50-55 men this year, but with God's planning and our prayers we had over 90 men singing, praying, and praising God. It was incredible!

Kelly Talamo was the speaker again this year. This man has been given a gift by God in being able to know man's heart and to cut through the crap that we put up to prevent us from hearing God. This year's topic was the X Games (games we can't afford to play with God).

Here are the 3 reasons why we shouldn't play games with God.
1. He's God, you are not.
2. He wrote the rule book (It's not if you lose when playing games; rather it is when you lose.)
3. You can't afford to play, the stakes are eternal.

Awesome stuff...
